SAUNA, CONTRAST & LONGEVITY

SKIN DEFENCE FOR SAUNA, CONTRAST & LONGEVITY ROUTINES

You optimise the heat. The cold. The recovery. Don’t forget the skin.

Sauna, cold plunge and contrast therapy have become part of modern recovery and longevity routines.

But your skin goes through the whole session with you.

Heat. Sweat. Plunge water. Shared benches. Towels. Changing rooms.

BLOK Skin Defence Spray is a 200ppm hypochlorous acid fine mist designed to add a simple skin-defence step to the routine.

YOUR LONGEVITY ROUTINE HAS A SKIN ROUTINE TOO.

People are increasingly deliberate about heat, cold, hydration, recovery and performance.

Skin deserves the same consideration.

BODY

HEAT → COLD → REST

SKIN

RINSE → CLEAN → DRY → PROTECT → RECOVER

No complicated ten-step skincare routine. Just a practical sequence designed around what your skin actually experiences.

WHERE BLOK FITS

01 — HEAT

15–20 MINUTES · 80–90°C

A practical starting range for traditional sauna use. Hydrate, build tolerance gradually and leave the sauna if you feel unwell.

02 — COLD

SHORT, CONTROLLED EXPOSURE

For short contrast sessions, around 1–3 minutes can be used as a practical starting framework for people accustomed to cold exposure. This is not presented as an optimal recovery dose.

03 — RINSE

WATER FIRST.

After the final round, rinse sweat, plunge water and surface residue from the skin with fresh, lukewarm water.

04 — CLEAN

GENTLE, NOT AGGRESSIVE.

Apply a mild cleanser to wet skin, follow the contact-time instructions for that product, then rinse thoroughly.

05 — DRY

PAT. DON’T SCRUB.

Use your own clean towel and gently pat the skin dry.

06 — PROTECT

ADD THE SKIN-DEFENCE STEP.

FAQ

What should I do with my skin after sauna?

A simple routine is to rinse sweat away first, gently cleanse, rinse thoroughly, pat dry with a clean towel and then continue with your skin-defence and moisturising routine.

Should I rinse before using soap after sauna?

Yes. BLOK’s protocol puts fresh water first so sweat and surface residue are removed before cleanser is applied.

Should cleanser stay on the skin?

Follow the instructions for the particular cleanser. Different products have different intended contact times.

Can hypochlorous acid fit into a post-sauna routine?

BLOK Skin Defence Spray is a 200ppm hypochlorous acid fine mist and sits after cleansing within the BLOK routine as the skin-defence step.

Where does skincare fit into a longevity routine?

Modern longevity routines often focus on heat, cold, training, nutrition, sleep and recovery. BLOK’s view is that skin should be considered alongside them.

Is BLOK claiming to improve longevity?

No. BLOK does not claim that Skin Defence Spray increases lifespan or longevity. It is designed to fit alongside the environments and routines associated with modern recovery and longevity culture.
